The Innovation Research Unit is currently inviting applications for a new Research Fellow position.
The IRU provides an excellent interdisciplinary research environment for investigating the governance of complex systems in the international, national, regional and sectoral level. Research is organised around various EU and domestic projects. IRU's emphasis is on applying new methods to innovation research such as agent-based simulation and social network analysis complementing quantitative and qualitative research in the social sciences. Research results shall support policymakers and business managers in facing the economic, social, and political challenges presented by developments in science, technology and innovation. In the past two years, IRU has grown a high number of international and national research projects on innovation systems such as the FP7 EU project “Managing Emerging Technologies for Economic Impact” (MANETEI) and the PRTLI5 project “Innovation Policy Simulation for the Smart Economy” (IPSE). To support and coordinate these new activities we seek to appoint a Lecturer / Senior Research Fellow who will support the Director of IRU to lead and drive the development and implementation of IRU’s research projects.
The purpose of the role is to deliver a specific research project. The role allows the Research Fellow the professional development opportunity to demonstrate the capacity for independent and self-directed research and scholarship and the management of a research team. The role allows the Fellow to assemble a portfolio of independent achievement and render themselves competitive for tenured academic positions or senior scientific roles in industry.
