The IRU run a number of projects which have received funding from various sources other than the EU these are detailed below:
UCD-NA Part 2 In its second part, the project “Internal and external Collaboration Networks of University College Dublin” (UCD-NA Part 2) analyses the structure and impacts of UCD´s industry network using data on R&D collaborative projects funded by a sponsoring agency. The study in the Strategic & Major Initiative Programme will visualise and analyse UCD´s industry R&D network to provide insights for effectively managing and optimising this network with implications for the Irish economy. The key insights from our study will help to identify and build UCD´s key academic-industry relationships. The study will be commissioned as research-based service to UCD Research.
Mapping the Emergence of Ireland’s Ocean Technologies Ocean Innovation Cluster | | This research project is focused on the dynamics of emerging innovation networks. Drawing on lessons of National, Regional, and Sectoral Innovations Systems, this research focuses on an analysis of Ireland’s SmartBay project, a national research infrastructure project in marine technologies, where the strategic intent is to seed the emergence of an Ocean Technologies Innovation Cluster. The research is informed through comparison with Ocean Innovation Cluster initiatives in Europe and in North America. Read more
